About Liz
After more than 20 years as a Registered Nurse, in both the United Kingdom and Canada, I became a Registered Horticultural Therapist in 2016. I gained experience in multiple settings on Vancouver Island before founding Tarragon Tree in 2020 to specialize in supporting residents who live in long term care communities. In 2023 I returned to Edmonton from BC, drawn back by the strong sense of community here.
Throughout our lives, most of us have some connection to nature: it is where we can “be” and grow, to relax and experience restoration. This connection does not end in later life – in fact it grows. It is a part of our identity, our sense of self. Helping seniors maintain that connection brings me a deep sense of fulfilment and helps them to live with purpose, meaning, dignity and variety, whatever their challenges.
"Liz demonstrates a natural ability that is surpassed by few. She is a certified horticultural specialist whose vast experience and knowledge shine through a sincere commitment to providing seniors with meaningful, enriching and imaginative programming. I have celebrated her talents as an employer and would without reservation entrust Liz with the care of my loved ones."
